Latin wedding DJ in Miami

Many Miami weddings bring two families, two languages and several generations onto one dance floor. Klaus Hidalgo is a bilingual Latin DJ with 14+ years at clubs like Rosario, Candela and Pier 5. He brings his own sound and lighting and builds the night so everyone dances, from grandma to the cousin who flew in from abroad.

One wedding, two languages

When one family speaks English and the other speaks Spanish, the DJ is the one who brings the room together. Klaus makes announcements in both languages and blends salsa, bachata, merengue and reggaeton with the English classics the other half of your guests want. Nobody sits around waiting for "their" music.

And when the night calls for it, in comes house music, Klaus's other specialty: the late-night set that makes nobody want to leave.

DJ or live band?

It doesn't have to be one or the other. A live band gives you a great moment, but plays a limited repertoire and needs breaks. A DJ keeps the floor going for hours without gaps and can switch to whatever genre the crowd wants.

Many couples combine both: the band for one set and the DJ for the rest of the night. If that's your plan, Klaus coordinates with the band so the transitions don't kill the energy.

Questions to ask any wedding DJ

  • Do you bring your own sound and lighting, or rely on the venue?
  • How many hours are included, and what does an extra hour cost?
  • Can you MC and announce in both Spanish and English?
  • How is the song list built, and who decides what doesn't play?
  • How long is setup and when do you arrive?
  • Where have you played, and do you have videos of real events?

With those answers you can compare quotes apples to apples. For more detail, read our Miami DJ pricing guide.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a wedding DJ cost in Miami?
It depends on hours (reception only, or cocktail hour plus reception), venue size and lighting. Message Klaus with your date and venue and he'll send a quote. For market ranges, read our pricing guide.
Does Klaus MC in Spanish and English?
Yes. Klaus is fluent in both, so your entrance, toasts and announcements can be in Spanish, English or both.
Can we choose the songs?
Yes. You pick the songs for the key moments and can share a must-play list and a do-not-play list. Klaus handles the rest by reading the dance floor.
Can he play the cocktail hour too?
Yes, cocktail hour music can be included in your quote. If the ceremony is at the same venue, tell him about the space and he'll confirm what's needed.
Does Klaus play the hora loca music?
Yes, he builds the hora loca set. The show itself (dancers, stilt walkers, LED robots) is booked through an hora loca company, and Klaus coordinates the entrance with them.
How far in advance should we book?
For weddings, 4 to 8 months ahead is ideal, especially for Saturdays. If your date is sooner, message anyway to check availability.
